Furlex Electric – the next generation
Furlex is by far the world’s largest selling jib furling system, and Seldén has recently launched their 4th generation of this iconic product.
News for the sailing season 2018 is a development of their electric driven Furlex models for 30’ to 45’ boats with 6-10 mm fore stays. Furlex 204E and Furlex 304E feature a weather proof outer shell of composite and a DC/DC converter, converting 12V or 24V to 48V power. That makes for thin cables from the converter to the furler and a compact and highly efficient electric motor.
What makes this product even more interesting is that it can be retro fitted to existing manual Furlex systems, model year 1998 and newer. To retrofit electric operation to a manual Furlex will cost approximately €2500 excl VAT.
Furlex Electric will be launched at METS in Amsterdam, November 14-16, and is available spring 2018.
Seldén’s stand number is 12-721 (Swedish pavilion).
