Seldén Mast launches innovative Dinghy high load kicker fitting.
The world’s leading manufacturer of mast and rigging systems for dinghies, keelboats and yachts, Seldén Mast has introduced a brand-new high load boom kicker fitting for dinghies up to 20ft. Tested to loads in excess of 900 kg, it is substantially stronger than the traditional eye fitting.
Cast in marine grade 316 stainless steel, the kicker (vang) fitting can be seamlessly fitted into the groove on all Seldén dinghy boom sections. Stronger than the standard boom eye, the longer design spreads kicker loads across a greater area so is kinder to the section. The fitting is designed to work in conjunction with Seldén’s 25mm high load stainless steel blocks that connect with a shackle. However, its smooth, rounded design is also optimised for use with a tie-on block or soft shackle. The low profile has improved crew head clearance.
The new high load boom kicker fitting is available from all Seldén stockist for retrofit to existing booms. However, Seldén have confirmed the new fitting will become standard across most of their dinghy booms in the future including 420, 470, Solo, Fireball and Flying 15.
